Pick Your Device to Get Started
Three device families are fully supported natively by the Fos TV Android app. Tap a tile to jump to the install guide.
Amazon Firestick
Fire TV Stick (2nd gen and newer), Fire TV Stick 4K, Fire TV Stick 4K Max, Fire TV Cube. The most popular setup — sideload via Downloader.
Install Guide →Android TV
Nvidia Shield, Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV, and most Android TV-powered smart TVs. Same Downloader workflow as Firestick.
Install Guide →Android Phone / Tablet
Any Android phone or tablet on Android 7.0 or newer. Direct APK install from the link in your welcome email — under two minutes.
Install Guide →Install Fos TV on Amazon Firestick
Six short steps. Most customers are streaming inside five minutes — no computer, no cables, no technical know-how required.
-
Enable Apps from Unknown Sources
From the Firestick home screen, go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options and enable Apps from Unknown Sources. On newer Fire OS builds you may have to click your device name seven times in Settings → My Fire TV → About to reveal Developer Options first.
-
Install the Downloader app
Return to the Firestick home screen, hold the microphone button and say "Downloader", or search the Amazon app store for Downloader by AFTVnews. Install it, then open it.
-
Enter the Fos TV install URL
In Downloader's Home tab, click the URL field and enter the Fos TV install URL we sent in your welcome email (or the short aftv code if you registered for one). Press Go.
-
Download and install the APK
Downloader will fetch the Fos TV APK in a few seconds. When the install prompt appears, tap Install. Once installed, you can delete the APK file to free up space — Downloader will offer this automatically.
-
Sign in to Fos TV
Open the Fos TV app from the Firestick Your Apps & Channels row. Enter the username and password from your Fos TV welcome email. The app remembers your credentials between sessions.
-
Browse 24,000+ channels — done.
The full electronic program guide loads in a few seconds. Pick a category — Sports, Movies, News, Entertainment, Kids — and start streaming. The Firestick remote works out of the box.
First-timers usually finish in under five minutes. If something acts up at step 3 or 4, the Fos TV troubleshooting guide covers every common slip.
Need the Downloader URL?
If you signed up for a 24-hour free trial or a paid plan and have not received the install URL, email help@catchontv1.email or open a chat from /contact. We typically reply within minutes during business hours.
Install Fos TV on Android TV
Nvidia Shield, Mi Box, Chromecast with Google TV, and most Android TV-powered smart TVs sideload the Fos TV APK the same way.
-
Enable installs from unknown sources
Open Settings → Device Preferences → Security & Restrictions → Unknown Sources (path varies slightly by device). Toggle on the entry for the app you will sideload from — typically Downloader.
-
Install the Downloader app from Google Play
From the Android TV Play Store, search for Downloader by AFTVnews and install it. This is the same Downloader app used on Firestick — it works identically.
-
Open Downloader and enter the install URL
Launch Downloader. In the URL field, type the Fos TV install URL from your welcome email and press Go. The APK will download in a few seconds.
-
Install the APK
When the install prompt appears, click Install. Some Android TV devices show a second prompt confirming the install permission — accept it. Once finished, you can delete the APK file.
-
Open Fos TV and sign in
Find Fos TV in your Android TV app drawer (it may appear under Other Apps). Open the Fos TV app and enter the username and password from your welcome email.
-
Stream — full guide, 4K where supported.
The complete channel list and EPG load instantly. Nvidia Shield, Mi Box S, and Chromecast with Google TV all decode 4K HEVC natively, so high-bitrate sports and movies play in full quality.
Already own a Firestick? Skip this section — Fire OS is just a re-skinned Android TV under the hood, and the Fos TV install workflow is identical.
Install Fos TV on Android Phone or Tablet
Direct APK install — no Downloader app required. Works on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and newer.
-
Open your welcome email
On the Android phone or tablet, open the Fos TV welcome email and tap the APK download link. The file (around 25 MB) lands in your Downloads folder.
-
Allow installs from your browser or file manager
On Android 8.0+ you will be prompted to allow this app to install unknown apps the first time. Tap the prompt, enable the toggle for Chrome (or your browser / file manager), then return to the install.
-
Tap Install
Tap the APK file in Downloads (or in your browser's download tray) and tap Install. The Fos TV icon appears on your home screen a few seconds later.
-
Open Fos TV
Tap the Fos TV icon. The first launch can take a few extra seconds while the channel list and EPG sync.
-
Sign in and stream
Enter the username and password from your welcome email. Cast to a Chromecast, plug into a TV with USB-C to HDMI, or just watch on the device. Done.
Streaming Fos TV on the phone is the most casual of the three. Connect the phone to a hotel TV via Chromecast or USB-C HDMI and you get the same picture as the Firestick build.
Does Fos TV work on Samsung or LG Smart TVs?
Fos TV does not ship a native Tizen or WebOS app yet. The reliable workaround is to plug a Fire TV Stick into your Samsung or LG TV's HDMI port and use the Fos TV Android app from there. Most customers do this and the experience is identical — you get the same channel guide, the same 4K streams, and the same anti-freeze playback on the same screen you already own.
-
Buy a Fire TV Stick
A Fire TV Stick 4K (around $50) is the sweet spot. Plug it into any free HDMI port on your Samsung or LG TV and into a USB or wall power adapter.
-
Set up the Firestick
Pair the Firestick remote, connect to your home Wi-Fi, and sign in with an Amazon account. The whole process takes about five minutes.
-
Install Fos TV on the Firestick
Follow the six-step Firestick install guide above. Same Downloader workflow, same APK, same login.
-
Switch your TV to the Firestick HDMI input — stream.
Use the Samsung or LG remote to switch inputs, then the Firestick remote to drive Fos TV. Some Fire TV Sticks even control your TV's power and volume via HDMI-CEC, so you can stash the original remote in a drawer.
iOS (iPhone / iPad) — Coming Soon
We're working on an iOS build. In the meantime, you can use any compatible IPTV player (such as IPTV Smarters on the App Store) and paste the M3U URL we email after signup. Or use a Fire TV Stick / Apple TV mirroring (requires AirPlay-capable app — workaround instructions below).
- Easiest path: install IPTV Smarters from the App Store, paste your Fos TV M3U URL on first launch, sign in — channels and EPG load automatically.
- Big screen: mirror your iPhone or iPad to an Apple TV via AirPlay and play through IPTV Smarters or VLC.
- Best big-screen experience: plug a Fire TV Stick into your TV and run the native Fos TV app — full guide, anti-freeze, no AirPlay quirks.
- Want a heads-up when the native iOS app ships? Email help@catchontv1.email and we will add you to the launch list.
Does Fos TV work on Roku or Apple TV?
We do not have a native Fos TV app for Roku or Apple TV. Both platforms heavily restrict third-party app distribution, and we are not going to claim a workaround that does not deliver a solid experience. Here is what does work today:
- Best option — add a Fire TV Stick: keep your Roku or Apple TV for Netflix, Disney+, and the rest of your apps, and plug a Fire TV Stick into a second HDMI port for Fos TV. Switch inputs to switch services.
- Third-party players (Apple TV): install an IPTV player from the tvOS App Store (such as IPTV Smarters Pro for tvOS where available) and paste the M3U URL from your welcome email.
- Mirroring (Apple TV): AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad running IPTV Smarters. Picture quality is good but the remote experience is rough on long sessions.
- Roku: screen-mirror from an Android phone or tablet running the Fos TV app. Reliable for casual viewing, not ideal for live sports.
Stuck? Read the Troubleshooting Guide
Buffering, login errors, missing channels, EPG not loading — we wrote a long-form fix-it guide for the issues customers actually run into.
Install hit a snag?
Most Fos TV install issues fall into three buckets: the device's "unknown sources" toggle is still off (fix it in settings), the install URL got pasted with an extra space (re-paste), or the welcome email landed in spam (check that folder before requesting a resend). For anything else, the full Fos TV troubleshooting guide walks through buffering, login errors, EPG glitches, and audio sync issues with device-specific fixes. Or email help@catchontv1.email with your order ID and device — replies usually land in an hour or two.
